Missing Paperwork (UPDATED 3/29)

Good afternoon!

I have included a list (with multiple tabs) below of athletes who have paperwork missing. If you are missing multiple items, your name may appear on multiple lists. This is list will be updated live as we receive paperwork and fees. Please note that all paperwork MUST BE TURNED IN PRIOR TO OUR FIRST MEET (next Wednesday) in order to be able to compete. Further, the participation fee MUST BE PAID or arrangements must be made in order to participate. Any missing paperwork or fees will result in NOT BEING ABLE TO PARTICIPATE!

Participation Fee: There is no form but there is some information you should be aware of - make the check payable to the school of attendance "Worthingway" or "Kilbourne". The fee is $125.00 ($62.50 for those who qualify for a reduce rate).

Two other items:
1) Athletes are REQUIRED to participate in practice next Tuesday unless arrangements have been made for the athlete to miss practice. It is logistically very difficult to get everyone events to participate in if all are not at practice. If you miss practice on Tuesday YOU WILL NOT COMPETE on Wednesday.
2) Parents - please continue to sign up to help out at our home meets. There are 21 slots that need volunteers and so far we only have 4 volunteers. Please see the previous blog post linked below to sign up!

Update 3/26

Good morning!

We WILL be practicing today at Worthingway. We will meet in the gymnasium between 4:15 and 4:30 and practice until between 5:15 and 5:30. We do have the gym available for our use but if we can be outside we will practice outside. Athletes: please dress appropriately for the weather!!

3/19 Update

Good evening everyone!

A few reminders this evening.

- Picture day is tomorrow (Wednesday, March 20th) all athletes have received a red jersey but will need to wear navy blue or black SHORTS for our team picture. If you would like individual pictures please send the photo form you were given at the parent meeting. If you did not get one but would still like pictures your child will be provided one to bring home so you can order later. If you have questions let Coach Stegman or Coach Dentler know!

- Thursday and Friday the weather is to continue as it has rainy and/or snowy and/or cold and/or windy and/or otherwise not the greatest conditions for track. It is extremely important for athletes to dress prepared to practice outside. That means, sweatpants, sweatshirt, jacket, gloves, hat, rain gear, etc. We still have an athlete or two each day arriving in blue jeans, this is unacceptable.

- Spring break: We will be having practices as indicated on the schedule shown below. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday afternoons. We are lucky to have TW Varsity runner (and state champion), Jalen Wells, join us to help out each day. Athletes: if you are in town you are expected to be at practice, start organizing ride shares now so getting to practice is not a problem! Once spring break hits we will only have 5 practices before our first meet.

- Paperwork! Paperwork! Paperwork! Pre-game meal (sub) forms as well as spirit wear order forms are due THIS FRIDAY (March 22nd). If you would like these items this is the only time orders will be accepted. Further, all district paperwork (Cautions form, ATOD) and the participation fee ($125) is due prior to the first meet - any athlete that does not have completed paperwork or paid fees will not be permitted to participate. If the participation fee is going to be a hardship please contact Mr. Mosca at Worthingway (wmosca@worthington.k12.oh.us). Again, if you have questions please contact Coach Stegman or Coach Dentler.

- Volunteering: we have a good number of parents that have signed up to help out at various meets throughout the season. If you haven't signed up yet, please do so! WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Spikes

Coach Davis is offering a special deal on track spikes. The cost will range from $25 to $35 depending on the size and style. She will be collecting money from athletes upon ordering. Further, Coach Davis is willing to take sizes and is happy to answer any further questions through e-mail.

Wednesday, March 13

My apologies for the late notice. However, if you are not already aware, practice has been cancelled for this evening: Wednesday, March 13th due to extreme temperatures and a lack of indoor space to hold practice. We'll try again tomorrow!

2013 Season Calendar & Initial Announcements

Good afternoon everyone! I, along with the entire coaching staff, have a lot to be excited about when it comes to this coming track season! First and foremost, practice will begin Monday, March 11th and run until 5:30 PM - athletes should anticipate being outside for the entire practice (bring hat, gloves, and raingear). The practice schedule (subject to change) is embedded at the end of this post. The parent meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 12th -  it will run from the end of practice for about an hour and will take place in the gymnasium at Worthingway. The agenda will include: an overview of team rules and expectations; a preview of the calendar for the season; the opportunity to order spirit wear, spikes, and pre-meet meals; as well as a chance to complete all necessary paperwork and pay participation fees ($125 full price, $62.50 for reduced lunch athletes). Finally, you will also find links to pages to sign up to volunteer for all of our home meets as well as our big invitational at the end of the season - our meets cannot run smoothly and end at a reasonable time if we don't have volunteers!
