DQ Run/Walk and Banquet
Good afternoon!
This weekend certainly was a wonderful end of the season.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, we are all meeting at Worthingway (KMS and Phoenix students will take the bus as usual) to get all of our equipment put away and organized. Also, uniforms will be collected, so if you have them washed we will check you off the list - you may also turn them in at the banquet. Once we have everything cleaned up we will walk together to Dairy Queen on High Street at North Street. Bring money so you can get a sweet treat or just hang out with team mates. Parents should plan to pick up athletes any time between 5:15pm and 6pm at the Dairy Queen.

The banquet will take place on Monday, May 20th and Kilbourne Middle School. The banquet will begin at 7pm in the cafeteria with a punch and cookie reception. We will then present awards and reflect on the season in the auditorium with a scheduled end of the banquet at 8:30pm. We hope to see everyone there!!

Today (5/10) and Tomorrow (5/11) - UPDATED
Track practice for today, Friday, May 10th is CANCELED due to poor weather conditions.
Tomorrow is the culmination of a season of hard work for many of our athletes and an opportunity the coaching staff has been looking forward to with great anticipation!
All athletes should arrive to the field house at Thomas Worthington High School between 9 am and 9:30 am. There is a coaches' meeting in the south locker room at 9:30, we will have a team meeting in the north locker room as soon as that wraps up. I will post the final line-up with heat and lane assignments in the next hour or two. UPDATE: The final line-up is posted below.
Good luck to all of our competitors this weekend and thank you, in advance, to all of our athlete and parent volunteers!!
PLEASE READ: Our volunteer crew is looking slim for tomorrow. I know a lot of people are bringing items for the hospitality room but we must have folks there to sell tickets - all of the profits from this year's meet are going directly back to the team so we need volunteers to help! Please take a minute to sign-up. If you are already signed up to sell tickets please meet Megan Ramage at the ticket booth. If you have signed up to help with shot put or discus please meet Coach Dentler down by the throws. If you have signed up to help with long jump or high jump please meet Coach Keaney at the high jump pit. If you have signed up for any other task or are unable to commit this evening but find yourself available tomorrow please meet Coach Stegman in the press box.

Marysville Tomorrow
Good evening everyone!!
Tomorrow is going to be an exciting meet for our team. It is the last meet of the season for some and the last competitive opportunity for others.
Something REALLY important you should know...
Meet is at Marysville HS, NOT Bunsold MS. The exit to normally get is off for the HS is CLOSED.
Take the 4 North exit off of 33. Turn LEFT at the stop sign off of the exit. This will take you back into Marysville. Go about 1 mile and look for the right turn that has a flashing yellow pedestrian light and also says 31 North (it is Elwood St, but you cannot see the sign). Take this to the first stop light, turn left and this will take you to the HS Track.

Marysville Meet & Worthington Invitational
Good afternoon!
We have an exciting announcement for athletes regarding our meet at Marysville next week!! We are splitting the team in half; allowing the athletes to form their own boys and girls teams; and competing against each other. It should make for an exciting meet prior to the Worthington Invitational on Saturday - the line-up for the Marysville meet should be ready to go after practice on Monday. (UPDATE: The line-ups are posted below.)
Just a reminder, the Marysville meet is on THURSDAY next week it is scheduled to begin at 5 PM (more than likely, though, we will begin late as our buses will run at normal time and it takes 45 minutes to get there).
CROSS COUNTRY ATHLETES: Next Wednesday evening there is a mandatory Cross Country meeting for 8th grade athletes...here's the e-mail from Coach Cox:
"Attention all students interested in running cross country at Thomas Worthington next fall. There will be a mandatory parent and athlete meeting at Thomas Worthington High School on Wednesday, May 8th in room 185 (at the East End of the Building) from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Our Summer training plan, competition schedule, practice times and expectations will be discussed, as well as cross country camp."
Next Saturday is the Worthington Middle School Invitational, it is the largest middle school meet in Central Ohio!! ALL ATHLETES ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND to either compete or help wherever needed. (UPDATE: The tentative line-up is posted at the very bottom of this blog entry.)
The coaching staff is working to finalize the line-up for the meet but there may be minor changes as we get closer to next Saturday. We are all soooo excited!! Have a great weekend everyone!
