Register for the #DrewStrong/GussStrong Race Event on
June 21, 2014!
This event on June 21st will be a community wide celebration of life as Worthington supports the GussStrong Foundation's goal, "to provide help and hope for Worthington community families impacted by cancer." The morning's events will include a 4+ mile race from WKHS (Drew George's homeplate) to TWHS (Stephen Gussler's homeplate), 2 hours of SuperGames activities and food at TWHS, and a 1 mile Family Fun Run also at TWHS (think Granby's Fun Day & Warrior Run all in one). All proceeds from the morning's Race event will benefit the O'Donnell/George Family Fund. Afternoon events include a GussStrong Golf Outing at the York Country Club followed by a dinner with silent auction and raffle with all proceeds benefitting the GussStrong Foundation.
How YOU can help make this Worthington community event a success?
1. No time like the present to get started on getting your family, friends and co-workers registered for June 21st!
2. Please share the race page site www.worthingtonstrong.com with your social network, post the link www.worthingtonstrong.com on your FB page, twitter, etc.
3. Forward this e-mail onto your church group, youth booster groups, sport teams, running or biking clubs, scouting and activity clubs...
4. Organize with your office or department at work to run as a team; run in Cardinal red or Kilbourne blue, orange hair for leukemia, or GussStrong hats, just run!
5. Don't run? Too early in the morning for a walk? Sign up on the race page to VOLUNTEER the morning of the race. Volunteers are already signing up, join them!
Plans also include registering runners at the Worthington Rec Center; as well as, distributing race posters, flyers and brochures at several Worthington locations and community events. If you are going to be out of town on June 21st but still want to help, contact mkkowal@yahoo.com and sign-up to volunteer at a race registration or publicity event.
